Blend Parent Training
Please join us for a parent overview of Blend. BLEND, Austin ISD’s new digital learning space, was created to provide parents and guardians with the information necessary to support their child’s use of BLEND. Come join us for a short orientation that will help you understand the mechanics of BLEND and give you a better understanding of your child’s expectations at school.
This class will be taught by 7th grade science teacher, Laura Rice. Ms. Rice is the Campus innovation Coach has been using BLEND for over 2 years.
November 13th from 8:15 – 9:30 – Room 206
Here’s what’s going on this week in our Cougar Communities (SEL):
Monday/Tuesday: “Your body can help tell you what it needs to stay healthy. Listen to your body and think of three things that help you stay healthy and strong.”
Wednesday:If you could be anywhere in the world at this moment, where would it be? Why? Who would be there with you?
Thursday: Close your eyes and think of the week you’ve had. What can you do to make it better?
Friday: Think of a nice gesture that you can do for someone in the next week. What will you do or say?
Our Lesson this week focuses on stress, it’s functions and how to manage it. Students will watch a video on managing stress and be asked to share ways in which they manage stress. It addresses our essential question: “What did I learn about other people’s perspectives today?”
Is your kiddo super-curious? Do they make connections between what they’re learning and everyday occurrences? Are they full of questions and ideas about how the world works? Do they pick up on directions and instructions before you finish the explanation? Your kiddo might qualify for the AISD GT Program. Fill out this form to nominate your student for the gifted and Talented program at CSMS.
