Social Emotional Learning
This week our lesson will focus on addressing Cyber-bullying. We will define bullying,
discuss steps to report bullying, and discuss David’s Law.
Our Mindfulness Moments for the week include:
Monday: Today, we will set our intention for the week. An intention is like a map of where you chose to go. It’s a plan of what wish to do or focus on. Example: I intend to make someone smile every day this week. What do you want your intention to be for this week?
Tuesday: Think of a person that is important to you. Why are they important to you? How do they make you feel?
Wednesday: Have you ever met anyone famous? If so, who? How was that experience for you? If not, who would you like to meet? Why?
Thursday: If you could pick up a new skill in an instant, what would it be?
Friday: Let’s reflect on your intention for the week, the one you set on Monday. How did it go? Did you accomplish it? Would you like to keep working on this intention?
CBE is Credit-By-Exam. A Credit-By-Exam (CBE) program allows you to earn credit or appropriate placement for what you already know. Students can pick and choose subject matter exams offered by Austin ISD through UT High School. Languages other than English are an example of CBE exams most popularly taken by middle school students. Find out more information about CBE using the link below. If you are interested in your child signing up for a CBE, contact your child’s counselor for a registration form.
2018-2019 CBE Deadlines

Summer 1: Tuesday, April 30
Summer 2: Friday, May 17
Please do not drop off or pick up in the Bus area (parking lot near the track). This is a safety issue. Not only that, we guarantee you will be stuck in there for a while while we safely load or unload our students from the bus. All pick-up and drop-off traffic should be done in the front of the school.
