What's happening at Small Middle School
Week of 11/11/19 – 11/15/19
Fun Run…I mean Cougars-
These are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier….who am I kidding? This is Fun Run time and we need your help to make sure we have all the funds we need to continue to provide your student the most amazing middle school education in Texas! We love this fundraiser because we don’t give 60% of what we earn to some outside entity, nor de we have to share any of our proceeds with the district; what we make stays here on campus for our kids. Period. End of story.
When you and your friends, neighbors, colleagues, kin-folk, and co-workers make a pledge for your student, the money you donate goes directly to making sure they have fun each and every day here on campus. We do a lot of things here in Smallville for our kids that might be considered unique to some, but to us they are essential for their social emotional growth. One of a kind classes forged in exploration and experimentation, grade-level recess, and ample opportunities to work with technology throughout the day, are just a few of the programs we use Fun Run money to support. This truly is a Fun Run as the majority of the money goes towards having Fun.
Regardless of whether your student raises any money, he or she gets to participate in the Zombie Fun Run on the 22nd and we also welcome as many spectators as possible. We all get to watch the theatrics, cheer them on, and then finish with a celebration/dance. It’s a great way to celebrate community by working towards a common goal. We use the same method in regards to incentives; even if a student doesn’t raise any funds, he or she still basks in the rewards for their PRIDE, their grade level, and for the entire campus if we reach our goal. We raise the money for the collective and celebrate as a collective as well.
Please take the time to help your student create their profile and then use email, social media, or whatever communication channels you have to tell all our contacts about our amazing school and the amazing things we do. Our goal has and will always be to make people jealous of the wonderful time our kids are having in middle school. So much so that they may even wish to return to this time of their lives in order to participate. Since we cannot offer that reality (quantum realm theory withstanding), the least we can do is let others help pay for it.
Enjoy the attached info and feel free to call or email with questions about the big event and how you can help.
